语境顺应观下的修辞格翻译

内容摘要

本文运用Jef Verschueren语用学综观下的顺应理论,以红楼梦回目中修辞格英译为个案,对翻译的本质及其现象作了定性研究,语境动态顺应为研究重点。为了使该研究更具有实践意义,笔者在顺应论框架下建立了一种翻译模式,用来解释顺应翻译的具体过程。并根据此模式应用顺应理论分别在语言内部语境和外部语境层面对两个红楼梦英译版本的回目修辞格进行语言选择的动态分析,从而回答以下两个问题:1.在顺应论框架下,翻译模式是如何建立的。2.在翻译的过程中译者是如何动态地顺应语言内部及外部语境的。通过从修辞角度对回目译文的分析,笔者认为,翻译是一种更加复杂的不断进行选择的活动,是在不同程度的意识参与下针对语言结构和语境动态地做出选择和顺应的过程。译者必须从翻译的目的出发,有意识地选择翻译策略、翻译技巧来顺应具体的交际语境,做出灵活的顺应性翻译。Verschueren的语用顺应理论必将为翻译研究提供一个崭新而有益的视角。
