翻译的对话伦理研究-以霍克斯译《红楼梦》为例

内容摘要

翻译的对话伦理,最早由当代西方译学界相当活跃且颇具影响的翻译理论家道格拉斯·鲁宾逊(Douglas Robinson)在其第一本翻译研究著作《译者登场》(The Translator’s Turn,1991)中提出,是基于翻译身体学、翻译对话性和翻译修辞格的伦理阐释,其目的并非提出具体的翻译准则,而是试图改变翻译研究范式的一次尝试。囿于其写作风格的过度解构化,所引例证的单一化以及研究内容的真空化,翻译对话伦理并未得到有效的解读与应用。本文首先引入对话伦理的理论背景,对巴赫金的对话美学和鲁宾逊的翻译伦理推导进行了回顾,分析了其基于规范的传统界定,然后结合翻译活动涉及因素的主客体关系就对话伦理的内涵进行了新的探索,即主客体之间的对话是翻译规范和翻译方法的高度统一。接着从对话伦理的规范性和方法性上对霍克斯译《红楼梦》中的言语表达、人际关系、品德智能、情感意志等等寓意丰富的四字格词语进行了三个层次,即主体之间,主客体之间以及客体之间的对话模式的解读。本研究主要结论如下：(1)翻译的对话伦理是规范和方法的高度统一,不仅能描述翻译活动各个要素之间的交流方式,还能规范和指导其活动模式；(2)对话伦理的新内涵既包括主体与主体之间的对话,客体与客体之间的对话,还包括主体与客体之间对话；(3)对话的可借鉴性方式有修辞式、移情式、境界式、争鸣式等等,为探索翻译伦理的新内涵另辟蹊径。
