内容摘要

长期以来，人们把“忠实”视为翻译的唯一标准，因而忽视了对变译的研究。近几十年来，随着跨学科研究的发展，人们不再满足于探讨翻译中的文字转换，而是开始关注文字以外的动态因素，包括译者、目的语读者以及文化对翻译的影响，变译因此得到越来越多的重视。但是，目前对变译的研究主要集中在字词层面，并多见于应用翻译领域，而文学翻译中的变译几乎还无人涉及。基于以上事实，本文以功能翻译理论和接受美学为理论依据，探讨文学翻译中的变译规律。文章第四章以《萧乾作品精选》为例，分析译者的翻译目的、目的语读者的期待视野以及文化差异对变译的影响，最后得出结论：变译同样适用于文学翻译，译者在充分理解原文的前提下，有权对原文进行变译，甚至是显著变译，以达到某一特定目的或减少目的语读者的阅读和理解困难。
