本文把奈达的动态对等理论应用于影视翻译，尤其探讨与分析了字幕片的翻译。在简单回顾了影视翻译的历史背景与发展现状之后，文章首先肯定了影视翻译属于文学翻译这一前提。从影视翻译的目的入手，强调了观众的反应与接受效果在字幕翻译中的重要性。之后，文章在解释了对等的概念，分析了形式对等与动态对等差异的基础上，分别从读者与作者、内容与形式以及等效这三个方面论述了动态对等理论应用于影视翻译中字幕片翻译的可行性与适用性。文章阐释了奈达的动态对等理论在强调读者的反应和效果的基础上，提出译文应从语义到文体用最近似的自然对等值再现原语的信息，而这一点正适用于以观众为核心的字幕翻译。文章将重点放在如何将奈达的动态对等理论应用于字幕片翻译。文章对字幕翻译的限制性与字幕片的四个显著特点，即多层信道、综合性、即时性和语言的通俗性进行了简略的说明。在奈达动态理论的总体框架下，针对字幕翻译的限制性与特点，提出了准确性、可读与易读性以及读者省力原则这三条实际操作原则。最后，文章从三个方面，即如何与画片保持同步层次、语言学层次以及文体层次分别论述了如何创造出以读者接受为中心的字幕翻译的策略与技巧，并附有相应的实例分析。
