外语学习动机，词典使用策略及词汇学习

本研究调查了六十二名中国非英语专业大学一年级学生的英语学习动机以及在完成基于文章的阅读任务和造句任务的过程中使用词典时是如何选择并实施词典使用策略的。本研究的目的在于探究词典使用的复杂特征并阐明在完成需要接受性技能任务(本文中指阅读任务)和产生性技能任务(本文中指写作任务)过程中词典是如何被使用的。受试者在完成任务之后,立即使用了即时回顾问卷来回顾他们在完成任务的过程中是如何使用词典的。此外,为了调查在英语作为外语领域中这一特定范畴的学习策略和英语学习动机之间存在着什么样的关系,该研究还向受试者发放了动机测试套卷(Gardner,1985) 并将动机测试的成绩与受试者的词典使用策略进行比对分析。另外,受试者还完成了一份词汇测试卷,目的是考察他们的词汇掌握水平以及他们所采用的词典使用策略是如何影响学习成果的。本研究依赖统计方法。采用不同词典使用策略的受试者的词汇测试成绩是通过t检查,ANOVA,和相关分析等方法来比较的。动机成绩同理。本研究的发现如下:1. 语言学习者在使用词典的过程中普遍存在着问题和困难。在某一个或更多的方面他们没能成功地使用词典。2. ‘所查阅信息种类的数目’和‘使用词典的频率’这两个策略和语言学习动机之间存在着很高的相关。3. 存在着一些对词汇学习能够产生正面影响的有助于外语学习的词典使用策略。
