中国英语创造的顺应性解释

随着国际交流的日益深入,英语这门国际性语言不可避免地受到世界上不同语言和文化的影响,由此导致了各种英语变体的产生。而中国英语就是其中之一。中国英语在向世界介绍和传播中国文化方面发挥了极其重要的作用。因此中国英语已经引起了国内外众多学者的注意。但是遗憾的是,大多数学者关注的是中国英语的定义,语言特点以及其与中国式英语的不同点等表层层面。很少有学者研究中国英语创造中影响语言选择的深层因素。维索尔伦的顺应论指出,语言的使用其实是人们有意识或无意识不断进行选择的过程。这些选择出于众多的因素,这些因素有语言内的,也有语言外的。中国英语涉及到两种语言和两种文化,因此,其创造过程包含译者对诸多因素的考虑和语言选择。通过对基于中国日报的语料的研究和分析,本文首先试图找出中国英语的翻译手法及特点。然后,本文试图把顺应论引入中国英语的研究,从而找出在中国英语创造过程中的各种顺应现象以及影响译者做出语言选择的各种因素。本文发现在中国英语的创造中,异化比归化更普遍。此外,中国英语还包含着很多由语言内和语言外的各种因素影响而做出的顺应。语言内的因素有英汉两种语言的语言特点。语言外的因素有原语作者和译语读者的心智世界,社交世界和物理世界,时间因素,不同的语境和翻译目的,以及译者的知识和喜好。这些因素要求中国英语的翻译方法具有灵活性,同时体现了中国英语具有动态性和商讨性。因此,本文作者认为顺应理论对于中国英语创造过程中译者做出的各种语言选择的合理性具有很强的解释力。
