基于航海新闻英语语料库的海事相关近义词对比研究

在当今时代,新闻在信息交流和学习工作中都扮演着愈加重要的角色。很多航运英语学习者和航运相关工作者都是通过阅读航运新闻来了解行业的最新动向信息,或者学习相关知识。尽管了解,很多读者严格区分这些词汇在词义和使用上面有差别,但是却无法道明原因。为了辨别其差别所在,本文主要分三个步骤进行研究：1)收集、处理语料并建立航运新闻英语语料库,2)对目标词进行对比与分析研究,3)得出研究结论。本文首先构建了一个由四大船级社官方网站(中国船级社、美国船级社、英国劳氏船级社和挪威船级社)中的航运新闻组成的航运新闻英语语料库,然后分别从类连接、搭配、语义和语义韵四个方面对航运新闻英语语料库中高频出现的有关mari time, marine, nautical, shipping; rule, regulation, law; captain, master; crew, seafarer四组常见同义语的语料进行对比研究。虽然语义韵和类连接分别属于意义和语法范畴,但是都与词汇共现相关。本文使用Perl语言处理文本并提取索引行,采用AntConc检索关键词。通过分析研究可以发现,所有目标词的显著类连接都是形容词+名词和名词+名词的结构；而每组几个近义词的搭配则有显著不同,同时也存在部分可以共同搭配的词汇；通过几本权威字典的对比查询,几组近义词的词义重叠很大,难以辨析,但是通过分析语篇中各词的索引行,我们发现很多词都有相对固定的中文翻译；在语义韵方面,master的贬义和中性含义各占一半,剩余的目标词多数是中性词义,语义韵区分不明显。
