论大学英语听力教学中非英语专业学生跨文化交际能力的培养

内容摘要

跨文化交际能力已成为现代人才必需的能力之一,需要在英语教学中进行培养。听力作为英语教学的一部分,在教学中也应当包含文化成分和交际思想。通过翻阅文献,笔者却发现在听力教学中融入文化教学和在听力教学中培养学生跨文化交际能力的实证性研究都相对较少。因此,笔者试图研究文化教学与听力教学的相互融合的现状,跨文化意识和跨文化交际能力是否在听力教学中被提及,并提出培养学生跨文化交际能力的建议。本研究在前人资料的基础上,采用定量、定性相结合的方法,通过问卷调查,听力测试和课堂观察等形式,将广西师范大学四个非英语专业140名学生作为样本,对其跨文化交际能力和听力理解能力进行深入研究,并对部分教师的课堂教学进行观察,进而补充定量研究的不足。研究的内容包括：(1)非英语专业学生的跨文化交际能力的整体水平如何以及文化教学在大学课堂中是否被给予与语言教学相同重要的地位；(2)跨文化交际能力水平较高的学生是否在听力测验中得分越高,跨文化交际能力水平是否与听力理解能力呈正相关；(3)通过以上研究结果,向大学英语教师提出教学建议和培养学生跨文化交际能力的方法,促进学生跨文化交际能力的培养,进而培养学生成为跨文化的人。得到相关数据后,笔者运用SPSS16.0进行分析。研究结果表明：(1)非英语专业学生所知晓的文化知识较少,多半是在课堂中获得,跨文化交际能力普遍不高。而语言教学仍然占据着大学课堂的大部分时间；(2)通过分析问卷调查和听力测试结果,笔者发现跨文化交际能力水平较高的学生,听力水平也高,者之间存在正相关性；(3)通过课堂观察,笔者发现虽然多数教师认为文化教学在英语教学中的重要性,跨文化意识对于学生综合素质的发展有帮助,但在有限的时间里和在大学英语四级和六级的考试压力下,教师无法进行较为系统的文化教学和对跨文化交际能力的培养。通过对调查结果的分析,笔者提出建议,其中包括对大学英语四级和六级考试改革的建议和对英语教师的教学建议。笔者也介绍在听力教学中培养学生跨文化交际能力的方法,希望对大学英语教师有所帮助。最后,本文对整个研究进行总结,指出研究中的不足之处,并提出了相应的建议供后续研究参考。
