体育新闻英语中的模糊修辞研究

内容摘要

近代模糊理论的出现开拓了语言学研究的领域。在对美国学者查德(L.A.Zadeh)提出的模糊理论进行研究的基础上，现代语言学家们通过对模糊语言学的研究纠正了将精确作为语言交流唯一准则的偏见，激发了人们研究语言中不确定性的兴趣，认识到模糊现象存在的必要性和重要性。合理的模糊不仅不会妨碍语言交际，反而能够促进语言表达的灵活性，增强语言的表现力，提高交际的效率。模糊语言学的研究成果对修辞学具有极其重要的启示，它为传统修辞学研究提供了一个全新的视角—模糊修辞。体育是人类社会文化生活的重要组成部分。随着经济的发展以及国际交流的日益增强，体育在人类交流中的独特作用受到愈来愈广泛的社会关注。英语体育新闻报道以其独特的话语范围和方式形成一种独立的语体。因此，本文以对模糊理论的阐述作为全文立论的基石，从语音，词汇，句法三个层面探讨了模糊修辞在英语体育新闻中的各种形式，并且结合体育新闻自身的特点，本文对模糊修辞应用于体育新闻中的各种特点及其根源进行了定性分析。本文研究发现英语体育新闻中的模糊修辞具有两大特点。一般而言，体育新闻的标题比其它部分更倾向使用模糊修辞，并且某些模糊修辞手段在英语体育新闻中的过于频繁使用导致新闻语言呈现僵化的特点。文章进一步针对模糊修辞大量应用于英语体育新闻报道这一语言现象展开研究，归纳出它所具有的四大实用价值：增强新闻的生动性和直观性，保持新闻报道的客观性，满足当代体育新闻读者对新闻娱乐性的要求，缓和体育界中存在的过度爱国主义和性别歧视现象。文章最后指出了本文的主要研究成果和研究中的局限性，并对这一课题在相关领域内的进一步研究进行了展望。
