基于语料库的中国英语学习者否定特点的研究

内容摘要

否定语气在语言交际中经常使用,每一种语言都有一套独特的表达否定意义的形式和方法。英语中的否定方式多种多样,种类繁多,再加上英语与汉语在表达否定概念时存在着很大的差别,因此对于中国的英语学习者来说,句子否定意义的表达成为了学习的重点和难点。本文以语料库为基础,采用中间语对比分析(CIA)和计算机辅助的错误分析(CEA)的研究方法,通过对比分析否定在中国学习者语料库和英语本族语语料库中的使用情况,揭示出中国学习者语料库中否定的分布和使用特点。研究结果表明,否定的分布模式在中国学习者语料库和英语本族语语料库中存在着差异,并且有些差异还具有显著性。首先,中国学习者过多使用not否定,而no否定使用不足。其次,在not否定的类型中,中国学习者过度使用缩写形式n’t。再次,就no否定类型而言,中国学习者对于no,never,neither,none,nor以及nowhere的使用明显不足。此外,本文还对中国学习者使用否定的错误进行了人工标注和分类,并利用错误分析理论解释了错误产生的原因。研究发现,在not否定的错误类型中,中国学习者常犯的错误是功能词的缺失,而在no否定的错误类型中,学习者经常混用not和no。分析认为母语负迁移是导致这两类错误的主要原因。本文可以为英语教学与学习提供一定的借鉴。
