非英语专业研究生跨文化交际能力的现状调查及对策研究

科学技术突飞猛进的发展带来了交通和通讯手段的迅速改善。跨文化交际在广度、密度和深度上都达到了空前的地步,成为越来越普遍的日常现实。因此,发展跨文化交际能力、学会与来自不同文化背景的人进行交往就显得尤为重要。外语教育工作者们为此做了大量的调查和研究,但多是涉及英语专业和非英语专业的本科生,对非英语专业研究生的相关调查和研究相对较少。随着研究生的持续扩招,非英语专业研究生的英语教育得到越来越多的重视。传统的教学方法已无法满足新形势下对于专业人才具备跨文化交际能力的要求。因此,为了切实有效地培养非英语专业研究生的跨文化交际意识、形成和发展其对文化差异的敏感和宽容以及处理文化差异问题的灵活性、为最终获得与不同文化背景的人们进行深入交流的实际能力奠定坚实的基础,现行的研究生英语教育体制需要从诸多方面加以改进。以探索更符合非英语专业研究生跨文化交际能力培养需求的教学模式为目标,笔者对现阶段非英语专业研究生跨文化交际能力现状进行了调查。由于跨文化交际中的敏感程度被普遍认为是衡量跨文化交际能力的一种途径,本次调查采用了由Chen Guoming和Starosta所设计的、衡量在跨文化交际中敏感程度的问卷,对郑州轻工业学院2009级的184名非英语专业研究生进行了测评,并结合问卷调查、访谈和课堂观察的方式,从而了解到在非英语专业研究生跨文化交际能力培养中存在的问题。根据调查结果,本文提出把文化教学和语言教学有机结合、培养基本的语言技能、注重教材选择和师资培养、完善考试制度,从而满足非英语专业研究生对于英语学习的更高需求,使他们具备超越文化局限的眼光和意识、拥有跨文化交际的知识和技能。本文共分为六个部分。第一部分阐述了本研究的背景、目的、意义以及本论文的结构；第二部分为文献综述,介绍了现阶段研究生英语教学现状,并回顾了国内外关于跨文化交际能力培养的相关研究成果；第三部分从交际能力理论出发,在此基础之上探讨了语言、文化、交际三者之间的相互关系,阐述了跨文化交际的定义和构成要素；第四部分是对于非英语专业研究生跨文化交际能力现状的调查研究。笔者对郑州轻工业学院2009级非英语专业研究生的跨文化交际能力进行了调查,分析了阻碍其发展的因素。在此基础上,本文在第五部分提出了培养非英语专业研究生跨文化交际能力的具体建议,主要包括文化教学与语言教学的有机融合、学生听说能力的提高以及交际策略的培养、教材的选择、评测手段的完善和师资的培养。最后一章为结论部分,总结了本论文的主要内容,指出了其局限性并对进一步研究提出了建议和意见。
