称呼语的跨文化研究

内容摘要

从相关资料来看,英汉语中社交称呼行为与礼貌策略的关系是以往学者极少涉足的一个研究课题。本研究以语言和文化、交际和语境、相关礼貌理论(即布朗和列文森的面子论、利奇的礼貌原则、顾曰国的中国礼貌原则以及斯科隆等提出的关联礼貌策略和独立礼貌策略)为理论基础,从跨文化交际的角度对中美高校师生的社交称呼行为进行详细比较。为此进行了实证性研究:以问卷作为主要研究手段,以中国高校教师(年龄介于30至40岁),中国高校学生、美国高校教师(年龄介于30至40岁)和美国高校学生作为受试对象,旨在了解权势和距离对中美高校师生社交称呼行为的影响以及中美高校师生在社交称呼行为中的礼貌策略倾向。本论文共有七章。第一章引言部分简单讲述称呼语在交际中的重要作用,陈述选择本研究的缘由,介绍本研究的主旨并阐明本研究的意义。第二章介绍与本研究有关的相关概念以帮助读者更好地理解本论文。第三章文献回顾部分历述国內外知名学者以往所进行的称呼语方面的有关研究并阐述本研究与以往研究的不同之处。第四章理论基础部分介绍应用于本研究的相关理论。第五章介绍本研究所采用的实证研究事宜,包括假设、受试对象、研究方法及实验过程。第六章是本论文的核心所在,共有六个小节:第一小节阐释被称呼者与称呼者之间的四种基本人际关系,即(P,D)、(P,D)、(P,D)和(P,D);第二小节介绍斯科隆等提出的三种礼貌系统,即等级礼貌系统、尊敬礼貌系统和平等礼貌系统;第三小节陈述从问卷调查中获取的数据及由此得出的相关结论;第四小节介绍在中国国內进行的实地观察及结果;第五小节描述中美高校师生在问卷调查中所采用的称呼语类型;第六小节首先阐述中美社交称呼语和社交称呼规则的差异,然后从文化角度追根溯源以解释中美高校师生社交称呼行为中存在的差异。第七章结论部分阐述由本研究得出的最终结论。依据从汉语和英语环境下进行的问卷调查所获取的数据,计算了中美受试对象在社交称呼行为所采用的称呼形式的频率分布,分析了中美受试对象的社交称呼行为差异并从中美文化差异探究其成因,最终得出如下结论: (1)权势和距离对中美高校师生社交称呼行为的影响是不同的;这种影响随被称呼者与称呼者之间的人际关系[即(P,D)、(P,D)、(P,D)或(P,D)]的变化而变化。 (2)中美高校师生在社交称呼行为所采用的礼貌策略也是不同的。中美高校师生依据被称呼者与他们之间不同的人际关系[即(P,D)、(P,D)、(P,D)或(P,D)]而采用关联礼貌策略或独立礼貌策略。本研究具有一定的现实意义,能为未来社交称呼行为方面的研究提供一些借鉴。一方面,对中
