从交际翻译理论的视角分析公示语翻译的误译

内容摘要

随着全球化进程的不断推进以及中国的飞速发展,越来越多的人开始关注中国。有大量外国商人和游客来到中国或寻找商业合作的机会,或领略古老东方的神秘魅力。为了更加方便外国友人的出行,大量的汉语公示语被翻译成英语。然而公示语的汉语英译却不尽如人意,出现了大量的错误,不仅没有帮助到外国友人的日常生活及出行,反而影响到了中国的国际形象。为了能改善公共场所公示语英译的情况,提供给外国友人必要的信息,以及提高中国的国际魅力,深入分析公示语误译将起到不可或缺的作用。本文在经过大量研究的基础上,了解了公示语英译的现状,从公示语定义,特点,功能等方面分析了公示语英译中应该避免的误区,并以本人实拍的公示语为例,分析了公示语英译存在的种种问题,并尝试从纽马克的交际翻译理论视角下分析公示语翻译的误译。通过对大量实例的分析,本人作者将公示语翻译误译的问题归于两个层面:语言学层面和文化层面。语言学层面主要指拼写错误,语法错误,和选词错误等,文化层面主要指汉式英语,较低的可接受度,强硬语气等。根据纽马克的理论,翻译方法的选择取决于三个因素:文本类型,读者身份和翻译目的。从文本类型分析,公示语可以分为信息型文本和呼唤型文本。公示语的汉英翻译应充分考虑到译文读者的文化身份的不同以及译文的应用目的。最后作者根据从不同方面给出了对公示语英译有用的建议。从文化层面,作者给出了翻译公示语应该遵循的几个原则,包括一致原则,忠实原则和最大原则。由于具体的翻译方法有很多种,只要译者遵循了这三条翻译公示语的原则,那么作者可以自由的选取适合的翻译方法给出最适合的翻译。作者还给出了别的建议,比如建立监督机构和相应网站等,希望能对公示语英译作出一定的贡献。本论文共分6章,第一章是引入,第二章是对公示语的介绍,第三章是文献综述,第四章是误译分析,第五章是讨论,第六章是对该论文的总结。
